Our newest family members

Our family has started sponsoring these two amazing children from Compassion International.  Compassion is a wonderful organization and one that we support via Giving Squared.  The kids took their time selecting the children, finding one who was their gender and age and had similar activities.  They are also both from Uganda, which is where Katie Davis's ministry is (Amazima is another organization g2 supports and I learned of it through her wonderful book, Kisses from Katie). 

We look forward to praying for, and corresponding with, Barbara and Emanuel!  God bless them, protect them and provide for them.  Let them feel our prayers.

To dwell on these things...

The idea behind this blog is to be an outlet to record a little piece of my spiritual journey...things I am thinking, reading, studying, praying about.  It is also a place for me to "dwell on these things"... "whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise" as stated in Philippians 4:8. 

It is easy to get bogged down with the schedules and the demands of the day, but it is important to stop and be thankful.  To give praise.  To count blessings.  To appreciate the small things.  To record the fun things.  To look for the good.  To share the excellent and praiseworthy and lovely.  Like Jake by a LEGO dragon:)
